2/20/2023 EnchantaVaughn Approved 1.Behavior: QMHP-C began the session by reflecting on any current behaviors. Previous session and positive behaviors displayed throughout the day were discussed. QMHP-C engaged her in discussion on using anger management skills 2. Behavior: Madison appeared to be outspoken at times within the session as she was wanting to communicate how her peers act in the school setting causing her be upset at times. 1.Intervention: QMHP-C discussed the importance of using anger management skills to reduce defiant and defiant behaviors. QMHP-C utilized a handout to review anger management skills. QMHP-C discussed how recognizing anger early will help a person to understand the trigger or to remove self from the trigger. QMHP-C also educated her on the importance of using coping skills such as taking a timeout, using deep breathing techniques, and engaging in some form or exercise to release the emotional stress brought on by the trigger. 2. Intervention: QMHP-C discussed ways to express anger and frustration without being confrontational towards others. QMHP-C educated her on thinking about the consequences of one’s actions as a deterrent for defiant behavior. QMHP-C encouraged her to use anger management skills daily. 1. Response: Madison engaged in the session and discussion on using anger management skills. She was receptive to the interventions presented during the session. She reviewed the handout and discussed her lack of using anger management skills at times. 2. Response: She stated that she is trying to learn ways to identify anger at the beginning instead of letting it build up over time. She also stated there have been times in which she has removed herself from the situation to avoid a negative reaction. She engaged in the review of coping skills to use as part of managing her anger. She agreed to be mindful of using anger management skills to reduce her defiant behaviors.
